For a recently purchased home, I prepared a concept and complying development documentation for the new owners to share with potential builders for quotes. The project involved replacing external cladding, modifying windows, building a new rear deck, and reconfiguring the interior to swap a laundry and bathroom, creating a new en-suite.

In addition to addressing the client’s brief, I recommended enhancements to improve the home’s functionality and long-term value. These included installing insulation in the external stud walls during the recladding process, as the existing walls lacked any insulation. I also proposed designing a larger, adaptable bathroom with discreet accessibility features, ensuring the space could accommodate the clients’ needs as they planned to retire in the home within the next decade. The recommendations were well-received and implemented, adding both immediate comfort and future-proofing to the design.
